High potential and gifted education
At Middleton Public School, we align our practices with the NSW Department of Education’s High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE) policy to ensure all students are challenged, supported, and able to reach their full potential. We are committed to providing an inclusive learning environment that recognises and nurtures students’ strengths across a broad range of abilities.
Our approach supports the development of the whole child through four key domains:
· Creative: Encouraging innovation, imagination and creative expression through varied learning opportunities.
· Intellectual: Providing rich and challenging learning experiences that promote deep thinking and academic growth.
· Physical: Supporting students’ physical development through purposeful activities and sport.
· Social-Emotional: Fostering wellbeing, resilience and positive relationships to support confident and capable learners.
At Middleton Public School, we take a student-centred approach to identifying and nurturing high potential and gifted students, ensuring every learner is supported to thrive both now and into the future.
